This past December Rabbi Nemetsky issued a Principal’s Challenge for Excellence in Reading to the students who participate in the Accelerated Reader program. Individual goals were set for each student in grades two through seven by their teachers and myself. These goals had to be reached by the end of the second marking period. I am delighted to report the following students met the Principal’s Challenge.
Second grade: Oriel Bruce, Sara Seewald Third grade: Lili Drak, Chava Kornblatt Fifth Grade Adina Newcome-Beill, Bailey Fendler, Benjamin Kaplan, Andrew Sarnevitz Seventh Grade: Meitar Dougherty, Abby Schwartz
To celebrate the above students’ outstanding success in reaching their goal, a small party was held in the library in their honor. Rabbi Nemetsky spoke and each of the student’s teacher also said a few words of congratulations. Each student received a beautiful certificate designed and executed by Mrs. Sandra Himelstein and refreshments were served. New goals have been set for each student for the third marking period. A goal has also been set for the first grade students. The entire first grade is now participating in the Accelerated Reader program.
We are looking forward to seeing more students meet the Principal’s Challenge for the third marking period.
