We are pleased to announce that Rabbi Raphael Nemetsky will be UHI's next principal. Although Rabbi will formally start on July 1, he will be actively involved in planning for the upcoming school year almost immediately.
Special thanks to the entire search committee led by Dr. Barbara Bell for their tireless efforts to choose an excellent administrator to lead the UHI into the future.
Commenting on Rabbi Nemetsky's selection, UHI School Board Chairman David Schwager said, "We feel extremely fortunate to have found Rabbi Nemetsky. He is a perfect fit for the United Hebrew Institute at this point in our 57-year history."
From 2001 to 2006, Rabbi Nemetsky served as principal at Hasten where he transformed the school into a true community day school to accommodate a wider spectrum of students. At Hasten, Rabbi Nemetsky also upgraded the school's accreditation to the state's highest level and expanded accelerated programs for the elementary and middle-school classes.
Rabbi Nemetsky holds a bachelor of arts degree in Talmudic Studies from the Rabbinical Seminary of America; a master of science degree in elementary education from Adelphi University and his Rabbinic Ordination from Torah Academy in New Haven, Connecticut.
